I came to the United States when I was eight years old. My second grade ELL teacher introduced me to my love of learning. She taught me that I could accomplish anything with hard work even through life's challenges.

I started serving in public eduction in 1993 in Dodge City, KS. I began my career as a tutor and finished my tenure in Dodge City as the principal of Dodge City High School.

I have an Associates of Arts degree from Dodge City Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Newman University. 

I have a Masters of Science degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University where I am currently a doctorial candidate.

I look forward to partnering with the Westridge Community to reach our mission together!

Linda Long

Athletic Director & Associate Principal- 8th grade

I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Biology Degree and earned my teaching certification in my Master's Program at University of Kansas.  

My 10 year teaching career was at the middle school and high school level in Biology.  I earned a Master's in administration from Emporia State University and have been an administrator in Blue Valley, Gardner Edgerton, and Shawnee Mission over the past 19 years for a total of 29 years in education.

 

 

 

 

Kendra Schapker

Associate Principal-7th grade

I attended the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!), where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education, and a Master's degree in Curriculum & Teaching. 

My love and passion for students continued to grow from there when I worked as a paraprofessional in the DeSoto School District. After a couple of years in DeSoto, I was hired by Shawnee Mission to teach English and Reading Intervention at Hocker Grove Middle School. 

I then worked as an instructional coach at Trailridge Middle School, until my arrival at Westridge Middle School during the 25-26 school year. I’ve worked in education for a total of 15 years.
